    Sad news. Guild DoP, Laurence Blyth, has lost his fight with cancer. He died on Thursday morning - peacefully - in an induced sedated sleep. A decent man, a talented man, a beautiful soul - he will be missed.

    “We have listened to our customer requests for a Manfrotto/Ace PL501 compatible base plate for CompassX.
    Known as the Versa Base plate and distinguishable by its orange colour, Miller introduces the new sideloading baseplate Cat#1278 to fit all CompassX models. The 1278 comes with a camera plate having a sliding range of 105mm. While the 1278 accepts PL501 camera plates made by other manufacturers, the sliding range may vary depending on the brands."

    The 1278 including camera plate lists for £213 in the UK.

    These two 2-day interactive seminar and practically based Workshops are available to all those interested in working as Script Supervisors.

    Over two days, amongst various other things, you will cover:

    • The role, function and responsibilities of a Script Supervisor during pre-production, production and post-production.

    • What is involved in filming out of sequence;

    • Practical exercises in Observation; what to observe

    • Practical exercises in breaking down, marking up and timing a script;

    • Cross referencing breakdowns with a shooting schedule

    • Shot descriptions; shot lists; film grammar and conventions

    • Single camera filming

    • Using a storyboard
